Wow! That is all I can say after spending time with this beautiful soul! This year has been an eye opening experience for me for sure. I have had the honor of capturing images from some STELLAR kids! This girl is NO exception! Kids today give me hope for our Future and I pray that she continues on her path and makes a HUGE difference in our World! Allison.....thank you for teaching me that I am never too old to learn and that I can learn from ANYONE.... Spending time with you was PURE JOY! I am so happy that you are part of the Switch Focus Studios "Focus Crew" and I can't wait to spend more time with you capturing your true beauty!
I asked her to write me a little Bio about her Accomplishment with Girl Scouts because I did not want to mess up the details..... READ what this wise young lady had to say in her BIO....
I will be a senior at Warrensburg High School and am involved in a little bit of everything. My parents say it's good to stay busy and that it keeps kids out of trouble. I am a hard worker and have had great examples in my family for having integrity and a strong work ethic. My faith is what guides me in everything I do. I believe it is important to be a leader, support those around you, and to treat others the way you want to be treated. Everyone has their own plan and their own path in life. I feel that encouraging and motivating others, along with giving grace is a wonderful way to share His word. I’ve attended Kanakuk Church Kamp the past 4 years for a life-changing experience and I continue to grow in confidence and character. At Kanakuk we live “I’m Third—God First. Others Second. I’m Third.” This foundational principle is integrated into each of us, equipping us to be Christ-like examples who lead with responsibility and care in the real world.
I enjoy music and have been taking piano lessons for 9 years. I’ve been in the band for the last 7 years where I play percussion, perform in the fall and winter drum-line, and am the lead snare. I was one of 3 freshmen that lettered in the band their freshman year and have continued to letter each year after. I am also a three-sport athlete playing tennis in the fall, basketball each winter and soccer in the spring. I believe it is important to keep your body and your brain strong and healthy which is why in addition to playing sports I also take multiple Honors and Dual credit classes each year. I’ve been recognized for the past 3 years with the Academic Excellence Award for being in the top 15% of my class.
I love animals and am often told I am an animal whisperer. I especially love my 2 dogs. Yankee is a 5-year old Shih-Tzu and Tobie is. 2 1/2 year old Lhasa-poo.
I’ve also been involved in Girl Scouts for the past 9 years and Scouting BSA for the past 18-months. Two separate organizations that give leadership experience, opportunities to do community service projects, and share challenging, engaging, and outdoor activities to youth.
In 2018 I became a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient!! The Gold Award is the highest achievement within the Girl Scouts of the USA, earned by Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Only 5.4% of eligible Girl Scouts successfully earn the Gold Award. I earned my award by planning, organizing, and executing a take action project benefiting my community. I planned and organized a spaghetti dinner and silent auction, solicited donations from local business and community leaders, and obtained donations for the silent auction. My efforts raised over $6,000 to help our local fire department purchase a Bullex Fire extinguisher trainer which will be used in our community to teach children the PASS (pull, aim, squeeze and sweep) technique and instruct workers in local industries on how to safely and effectively use a fire extinguisher.
18-months ago I embarked on a new journey as a member of Scouting BSA Troop #7513. This troop is an all-girl Scouting BSA Troop and a sister troop to the same one my dad was in growing up and where he earned his Eagle Scout rank, Troop #513. For the past 18-months I’ve worked hard and diligently to earn 31 merit badges: environmental science life-saving, communication, rifle shooting, scholarship, first-aid, personal fitness, citizenship in the world, and public health, just to name a few. (I’ve earned 10 more than the required 21 badges to reach Eagle Scout.) I’ve served in a leadership position for 232 days as a patrol leader and 327 days as a senior patrol leader for our troop, camped a total of 41 days (including every month for the past year), completed 199 hours of community service and have hiked 41 miles.
Most recently, with the help of 25 amazing and hard-working volunteers, I achieved a major milestone in my scouting journey - and completed my Eagle Scout Project. After 236.5 collective hours of planning, organizing and physically working and with the assistance of 13 BSA Youth, 8 BSA Leaders, 4 adults, and 1 youth, we painted 65 Stay Safe Bike Stencils along the Spirit Trail (DD Trail) here in my hometown. Since its inception in 1911, only 4% of Scouts have earned the Eagle Scout Rank after a lengthy review process. I will be one of the first females to have earned both of the highest achievements in both the Girl Scouts and Scouting BSA. I will be in the inaugural class of girls to earn their Eagle Scout Rank in January 2021 and the first father-daughter Eagle Scout honorees in Troop #513 in my hometown.
I was recently recognized as the July Optimist Club of Warrensburg teen of the month and have earned the 2019 and 2020 VFW Scout of the Year award for our local VFW post and our VFW District. I've also earned awards for volunteering at church, have donated blood to the American Red Cross, as well as actively participate in many school activities. In addition to sports and band, I also participate in Science Olympiad, FBLA, am a Student to Student Ambassador, a member of the National Honor Society, and the Yearbook Staff at my school. I also have worked the past 2 years at Sonic and the past 4 years cleaning a local insurance office each weekend.
I am very appreciative of the love and support that my parents have given me and the faith that God has put in me. I have no doubt that I have been guided by His light and I work hard each day to be the best version of me that I can be.
Thank you,
Allison Adlich
